‘In the Round’ event to feature Jim Witter, naturalist, tonight, Dec. 18

From BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY

The community is invited to join Bowling Green State University for its “In the Round” event tonight, Dec. 18, from 6 – 7 p.m. Jim Witter, a naturalist with the Wood County Parks District, will host a guided evening owl talk at the Bradner Preserve.

Due to the impending rain in the forecast, the outdoor walk has been replaced by an indoor talk.

During the 2025-26 academic year, “In the Round” will feature several events across campus and in the Wood County community. These activities center around the exploration of Wall Kimmerer’s text, “Braiding Sweetgrass,” and people’s relationship with the natural world.

This year, more than 25 faculty are incorporating Kimmerer’s best-selling book into their course content as part of a common read experience across the institution.

Other “In the Round” events include community reads, outdoor experiences, a nature-informed gallery exhibit, and a CFE faculty and staff book club.
