Carol Frances Grizzard

Carol Francis Grizzard (Timmons), age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of Christ, Carol lived a life grounded in unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and genuine friendship with all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her beloved son, Charles “Chuck” Grizzard, and his wife, Marcia; and by her two cherished grandchildren, Jack and Josie, who were the great joy of her later years. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Timmons and Nancy Timmons; her nephew, Gary Timmons; and her nieces, Lori Davis and Michelle McCool.

Born on April 5, 1937, in Brooklawn, New Jersey, Carol later moved with her family to Westville, New Jersey, where she was raised and formed many lifelong friendships. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1955, carrying with her the values of faith, kindness, and devotion that would guide her throughout her life.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Cecil Guy Grizzard—her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful marriage rooted in faith, mutual devotion, and family. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Francis Timmons, and her brothers, Gene Timmons and Charles Timmons Jr.

A lifelong member of Southwood Baptist Church, Carol faithfully served her church family for many years. She taught at Little People Day Nursery, where her gentle spirit, patience, and love for children left a lasting impact. Her love for the Lord was evident in her service, her kindness, and the way she poured herself into others. The friendships she formed at Southwood Baptist Church and Little People Day Nursery were deeply treasured and remained close to her heart until the very end.

Carol and Cecil loved to travel together, enjoying memorable trips to California and Canada. Yet nothing brought Carol greater joy than time spent in Ohio with her family. She delighted in countless adventures with Jack and Josie—especially during the holidays—creating precious memories that will be cherished forever. Through those visits, she proudly became an enthusiastic Ohio State Buckeyes fan, much to the delight of her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life honoring Carol’s faith and legacy will be held on March 8, 2026. A private family burial will follow on March 9, 2026, at Eglington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Carol’s name, honoring the faithful military service of her brothers, her husband, and her son.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Bridge Hospice and The Heritage Care Center in Bowling Green for their compassionate care, kindness, and love shown to Carol.
