John Frederick Lintner

John Frederick Lintner, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida, surrounded by family.

He was born on November 21, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, to Paul and Helen (Emch) Lintner. He spent much of his life in Pemberville, Ohio, where he built both a career and a life centered on hard work, independence, and providing for his family.

John was the longtime co-owner of F & L Farm Supply, where he dedicated many years to his work and to serving the farming community he cared deeply about. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to others.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed staying active—biking, walking, working outdoors, and maintaining his home. He took pride in staying busy and productive.

He was a longtime, devoted member of Bowling Green Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where his faith was central to his life. He supported missionaries and served as an elder, along with many other contributions to his church community.

John was married to Thelma Lintner (Clark), with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. He later married Carol Chilcote (Smith), who remained by his side until his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Chilcote-Lintner (Smith); his children, Carrie (Derek) Lintner Barker and Alan (Corinna) Lintner; his stepson, Scott (Nadine) Cottrell; his grandchildren, Zachary, Kara, Landon, Reece, Emilee, and Clayton; his sister-in-law and farming business partner, Linda Lintner, and the only dog he ever loved, Benny. He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will remember him for the life he lived and the memories he created.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen; his wife, Thelma; and his brother, Thomas.

Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home 4094 State Route 105 Pemberville, OH. A funeral will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, 2026 at Bowling Green Alliance Church 1161 Napoleon Rd, Bowling Green, OH. There will be additional visitation from 10 a.m., until time of service. John will be laid to rest next to Thelma in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery Dowling, OH. Officiating will be Pr. Arnie Buehler.
