The City of Bowling Green Police Division has recently been made aware of a phishing attempt targeting residents and acquaintances of former Mayor Dick Edwards. In this scam, individuals are using a fraudulent email claiming to be Edwards, which includes two links regarding an “April Invitation Document.”
The links ask for personal information from the receiver and instructs them to download an application. Mayor Edwards has indicated he sent no such email.
Residents and businesses who receive an unexpected email related to unknown events from Dick Edwards or others in the community should exercise caution.
