Trees to be removed in area of Carter Park for new fire station

Carter Park map shaded to show where trees will be removed.

The City of Bowling Green Urban Forestry Division will be conducting tree removals in Carter Park now through the end of the month. A portion of trees will be removed as part of the construction plan for the new Bowling Green Fire Station.

Residents and parkgoers may notice crews and equipment in portions of the park while this work is underway.

For patron safety, sections of the park will be closed intermittently, particularly by the practice holes, along with holes 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the disc golf course.

Urban Forestry will plant new trees post construction, which will help ensure a diverse, healthy and resilient urban forest for future generations.
