From BOWLING GREEN ARTS COUNCIL
Bowling Green Arts Council has announced Art Walk 2026, a visual and musical arts show in which locations throughout downtown Bowling Green will host artists’ displays and performances, will be held on May 9, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Anyone living within 50 miles of Bowling Green is eligible to participate. Artists may display works in any size or medium as space and amenities of the chosen venue allow. Work must be “family-friendly” and acceptable by the venue. All work must be properly presented (i.e., framed, mounted or matted, with a hanging device if needed).
Each artist must meet with their merchant at least one week prior to the event. Artists or their representatives are strongly encouraged to be present at the venue during the event to talk to visitors about their work and to conduct sales.
On the day of the event, one work should be brought to the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., by 12:30 p.m. for the jury review. People should label their artwork for the library display including name, title, medium, and price or NFS. Let the arts council know if an easel or table is needed.
All artists are invited to the after-party at Myla Marcus Winery from 5-6 p.m. for refreshments, music, and awards. Brochures listing all artists and locations will be distributed throughout the area.
Entry fees are $15 for BGAC member artists and $35 for non-members – this includes a one-year membership to BGAC. The entry fee for non-profit organizations is $25, if profit from any sales exclusively benefits the organization and not the individual artists.
Entries are due April 21. Registration must include all required information and payment. Artists may register here.
Businesses throughout historic downtown Bowling Green will host galleries and events. A list of businesses that are interested in hosting will be posted on the website with contact information at BGArtsCouncil.com under Art Walk, on or before April 12. Updates will be made as new venues are identified. Some venues may host more than one artist. It is the responsibility of the artist to find a venue that works for them – but the arts council will help if needed.
Entry into Art Walk 2026 is not juried. All paid individual participants, excluding non-profits, will be eligible for awards based on the artwork at the library. Juried awards include first place and $100; second place and $75; and third place and $25. The decision of the judge is final. People’s Choice Awards will be given based on visitors’ votes cast at the library and will be first place and $100; second place and $75, and third place and $50. All awards will be announced at the Art Walk after-party.
Artists may sell their artwork during Art Walk. No commission will be taken by BGAC or participating venues. Work will not be insured.
