Wood County at ‘Slight Risk’ of severe weather today, April 14

From WOOD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

Wood County has a “Slight Risk” (2 -5) of severe weather Tuesday afternoon, April 14, and evening.

There are two potential rounds for severe weather – the first from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with the second from 10 p.m. – 4 a.m. This afternoon’s storms may bring wind gusts of 40-55 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. This evening’s system will bring gusts of 45-60 mph, heavy rain, frequent lighting, and small hail with a minimal risk for a tornado.

There will be a brief decrease in activity Wednesday morning before another chance of passing showers and storms are possible, placing Wood County in a “Marginal Risk” (1-5).

The EMA will continue to monitor and provide updates as appropriate.
