From NORTHWESTERN WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
The Northwestern Water and Sewer District is aiming to make it easier for customers to report water and sewer emergencies. Customers can now use the district’s main business phone number, 419-354-9090, for both routine inquiries and after-hours emergencies.
By calling the district’s primary number and pressing “0”, callers will be connected to a dedicated call center that will immediately notify the licensed operator on duty. This new system replaces the previous process of contacting county sheriff dispatch offices in Wood, Henry, and Hancock Counties.
This change aims to simplify reporting water and sewer emergencies by providing one familiar number for all customers’ needs.
“Moving to a singe, consistent contact number removes confusion and helps us respond more efficiently,” said Simon Gundy, District assistant superintendent. “Customers no longer need to remember different numbers depending on the time of day or their county. One call gets the issue routed quickly to the right personnel, ensuring timely service when it matters most.”
The updated system’s goals are to enhance communication, reduce response time, and ensure that emergencies are directed promptly to trained water and wastewater professionals.
Customers are encouraged to save the district’s main phone number and use it for all service inquiries and emergency situations moving forward.
