The Wood County Suicide Prevention Coalition is dedicated to raising awareness of suicide in the community, conveying that suicide is preventable. Further, mental health conditions are treatable and decreasing stigma as a barrier to someone seeking treatment. The coalition also wishes to support those in our communities who have lost a loved one to suicide.

On Tuesday, June 9, the Wood County Suicide Prevention Coalition will host events in local parks to unveil a new awareness campaign to promote the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

The events are in partnership with the Wood County Parks District, City of Bowling Green Department of Parks & Recreation, City of Rossford Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board. The campaign will feature 30 signs in the parks promoting the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The campaign is funded by the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Boards and the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.

The schedule for the events follows:

  • 12:30 pm – Rossford – Veterans Memorial Park, 340 Hannum Ave, Rossford, OH 43460
