Over the upcoming weeks the Wood County Park District has announced that pavement maintenance will be conducted at three park facilities that will result in intermittent park closures.
On Tuesday, May 30, work will be done at the W.W. Knight Nature Preserve. The preserve will be closed to all vehicular traffic throughout the day to enable completion of the work.
Beginning on Wednesday, May 31, the Slippery Elm Trail will be closed in stages to perform pavement maintenance on the 13-mile multi-purpose trail. Work will begin at the north terminus and continue south with work anticipated to conclude on Monday, June 5.
On Tuesday, June 6, William Henry Harrison Park in Pemberville will be closed for the day and reopen the following day.
Park District Director, Neil Munger, noted that all work is weather dependent and the schedule may need to be adjusted in case of inclement weather.
