The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce has announced the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Pre-College Enrichment Program in Bowling Green. The official ceremony will take place on Monday, July 20, at 4 p.m. at the Bowling Green Performing Arts Center, 540 W. Poe Road.

The Pre-College Enrichment Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose goal is to “prepare motivated high school students for college success – providing the tools, knowledge, and confidence to pursue higher education,” said founder Sheila Brown. Brown is a former BGSU staff member who previously oversaw the Pre-College Enrichment Program (PEP) at the university for seven years. In keeping with PEP’s historical ties to BGSU, the new PEP summer college experience is planned and will be held on campus.

Brown shared her ambition to raise $100,000 to fully fund the 2027 summer cohort of 20-24 students for four weeks on the BGSU campus. Dinner Theatre BG is PEP’s primary annual fundraising event – a revival of the BGSU Dinner Theatre that Brown produced for over a decade. Each year carries a new theme. For 2026, it is the “60s Spectacular.” Local artists, celebrity guest host Jay Lamont, and musicians from Toledo and Detroit will provide an evening of entertainment.

The 60s Spectacular show is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m., at the Bowling Green Performing Arts Center. Every ticket and sponsorship for this event will directly fund student scholarships and programming. People are invited to bring their family and friends to Dinner Theatre BG.

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce invites the public to join in supporting women-owned businesses in the city of Bowling Green. To secure a spot at the ribbon-cutting, RSVP at bgchamber.net/rsvp or call 419-353-7945.
