Bowling Green Police arrested a man for domestic violence after he allegedly hit a woman in the head with a shovel.
Police responded to a home in the 300 block of West Poe Road on Wednesday (July 1) around 2 p.m. The house is owned by David Buser, 67, of Bowling Green, who was allowing two people to live there. He told police that he posted a note on the house in May, stating that the dwellers had to be gone from the residence on or before July 1. Buser said his lawyer told him leaving the note was all that was necessary to evict the residents.
On Wednesday, Buser went to change the locks on the doors. While he was working on that, the residents arrived at the house, and the woman used a shovel to pry open a window.
Buser told police he “got into a tussle” with the woman over the shovel, and struck her in the head with it.
The woman was checked out by Bowling Green Fire Division, but refused to go to the hospital.
Buser was advised that he needed to file with Wood County Common Pleas Court to properly evict residents. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
