The Wood County Committee on Aging has announced the candidates for its 2026 governing board election. Three candidates will be elected to serve two-year terms beginning Jan. 1. The election will be conducted using a revised process as part of WCCOA’s bylaw changes, designed to ensure representation from older adults actively participating in agency programs.
Under the new election process, voting will be conducted by a panel of volunteer electors who are representative of the population served by WCCOA. Any Wood County resident age 60 or older who participates in WCCOA programs is eligible to volunteer as an elector. Participation includes the submission of a 2026 NAPIS/service registration form and a 2026 release and waiver of liability form.
Eligible participants who wish to serve as electors may volunteer throughout the month of September by notifying their site manager or the information desk at the Wood County Senior Center. Lists of volunteer electors will be submitted to the nominating committee of the governing board at the end of September.
During the second week of October, volunteer electors will receive a ballot and candidate biographies. Completed ballots will be returned to WCCOA staff at local senior center sites and the information desk at the Wood County Senior Center. Ballots will then be collected and counted by the nominating committee during the third week of October.
