From BOWLING GREEN HIGH SCHOOL
The Bowling Green Exchange Club and Bowling Green High School are proud to announce that Miriam Faulker is the November 2026 Student of the Month. Miriam is a senior at BGHS and will graduate in May 2027. She is the daughter of Sandra Faulkner and Joshua Atkinson.
Miriam’s school honors and activities include membership in the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. Her involvement in extracurricular activities include the BGHS Orchestra, where she plays cello and serves as first chair of the symphonic orchestra. Miriam has also participated in regional orchestra and the OMEA District I Honors Festival as well as the pit orchestra for the high school musical. Additionally, she participates in the BGHS Varsity Tennis team, where she serves as captain. Miriam has also been a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra. Finally, she is active in the Spanish Club, where she serves as a coordinating officer and vice president.
Outside of school, Miriam has demonstrated a commitment to service and leadership. She assisted with a faculty-led research project through Bowling Green State University’s PICNICS program, has performed music for nursing home residents, and has volunteered with middle school youth tennis. She is also a participant in the BG Leadership program and has helped teach Spanish to younger students.
Miriam currently has a 4.425 GPA and a composite ACT score of 30. After high school, she plans to attend BGSU and participate in the Honors College. Miriam hopes to study pharmacy and potentially minor in business to explore additional interests and broaden her career opportunities. She also plans to spend a year studying abroad in Salzburg, Austria, through BGSU’s study abroad program.
