From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that The Well Health & Fitness has been selected as its third quarter investor grant recipient.
After becoming a USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach and receiving requests from friends and family to create fitness programs for them, Sam Beaver opened The Well Health & Fitness in 2020. Located at 1099 N. Main St., Bowling Green, this coached functional fitness studio offers personal training, small group personal training, group training, young athlete classes, and adaptive athlete classes.
The Well’s goal is to make fitness accessible to people with a wide range of abilities, limitations, and starting points. One of the most common challenges is finding appropriate ways to safety increase cardiovascular demand.
“Most traditional cardiovascular equipment requires significant use of the lower body,” Beaver stated. “Bikes, rowers, and treadmills work well for many people, but they are not always practical for individuals with mobility limitations, lower-body injuries, neurological conditions, or other physical restrictions.”
To better serve community members with these physical restrictions, The Well submitted an investor grant request to purchase the Rogue Echo SKI.
This piece of equipment provides resistance and cardiovascular training through an upper-body pulling motion. For individuals who cannot use a bike, rower, or treadmill, this ski machine provides a way to develop cardiovascular endurance. The Rogue Echo SKI will allow Beaver and his team to build workouts for individuals with limited access to traditional fitness equipment and create a more inclusive environment.
The quarterly investor grants are available to all investors in good standing at the chamber, and the application is available online for easy submission. The grant provides a chamber investor up to $1,000 that can offset the cost of an employee training program, the purchase of business-related equipment, or apply towards the offset of a BGSU/Owens student internship.
The deadline for the fourth quarter grant submission is Thursday, Dec. 31.
