After months of not having to pay for downtown parking, local residents will soon have to adjust to paying for parking – at new kiosks in all the city lots downtown.
The kiosks were intended to be in operation at the beginning of the year, but have been delayed due to technicians working to connect the kiosks with parking enforcement and with the parking app, according to Assistant Municipal Administrator Joe Fawcett.
“We had hoped we’d be able to go online sooner,” Fawcett said on Monday.
There are a total of 10 kiosks now in city lots downtown. Fawcett said a one-week\ notice will go out to the public before the kiosks go online.
