Wood County is up to 1,356 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 since March, according to the Tuesday, Sept. 1, update from the Wood County Health Department, That is 11 more cases since Monday.
One more death has been reported, bringing the total COVID deaths in the county since March to 68.
As of today there are 62 active cases in the county, which is 25 fewer cases since Friday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Of the total 1,356 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus ranged in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 41. Of those testing positive, 736 were female, and 620 were male.
A total of 127 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
Of the 68 who have died, two were in their 50s, seven were in their 60s, 17 in their 70s, 28 in their 80s, and 14 in their 90s. Of the deaths, 36 have been females, and 32 have been males.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of Aug. 26, there were 17 areas in the county with active cases.
The Perrysburg area has between 21 and 25 active cases. The Bowling Green area has between 16 and 20 cases. Bloomdale and North Baltimore each have 6 to 10 cases.
Areas with 1 to 5 cases each include Bradner, Custar, Grand Rapids, Jerry City, Luckey Millbury, Northwood, Pemberville, Risingsun, Rossford, Walbridge, Wayne and Weston.
Of the total 1,356 cases in Wood County, at least 305 have been in long-term care facilities – 185 were residents and 120 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 19 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 29 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 7 staff.
- Heartland of Perrysburg: 27 residents, 13 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 6 residents, 18 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 3 residents, 5 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 4 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore: 23 residents, 11 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green: 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Wood Lane Residential Werner House: 1 resident, 1 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 47 of Wood County’s 68 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
