Kevin Lause, 66, of Gibsonburg, passed away on January 26, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on June 11, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to Kenneth G. Lause and Mary (Anderson) Lause. Kevin graduated from Lima Senior High School and earned his master’s degree in American culture studies at BGSU. He was an associate instructor for popular culture at BGSU and even co-authored a textbook titled Popular Culture: An Introductory Text. Kevin worked various factory and warehouse jobs over the years but is probably most recognized as the librarian at Fremont Birchard Public Library. Through compassion and hard work, he served his community for over 20 years by helping patrons study, complete degrees and accomplish goals in education. He had a soft spot for dogs and had adopted several through the humane society and from neighbors needing a helping hand. Kevin of course loved reading, but he also loved nature and going for walks at White Star Park, which he made sure to do every day. He married Rebecca Fausey on September 25, 1993, and she survives.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca Fausey of Gibsonburg, brother, Sean Lause and nephew, Chris Lause, both of Bluffton, OH, and canine companions, Wonder, Luna and Scooby. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Kevin’s request there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fremont Birchard Public Library, 423 Croghan Street, Fremont, OH, 43420, Wood County Public Library, 251 N. Main Street, Bowling Green, OH, 43402, or the Humane Society of Sandusky County, 1315 N. River Road, Fremont, OH, 43420.
