Thomas Charles “T” Shaw, 73, of Bowling Green, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born July 16, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to Thomas and Adelaide (Mackovic) Shaw. He graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School and attended the University of Toledo. Tom married Linda Mattes in 1977 and they shared 46 years together.
Tom worked for BP Husky Refinery. He enjoyed playing golf and attending UT football games. Tom loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful family man and was generous to those he knew and those he didn’t know. He knew no stranger and his kindness to others was unmatched. He lived his life as Acts 20:35 says: “It is more blessed to give, then to receive.”
Along with his wife, Linda, Tom is survived by his daughters, Julie (Mark) Nye and Christina (David) Guinsler; grandchildren, Nikolas, Caden, Dane and Kendall; grand-dogs, Cairo and Livvy; sisters, Kathy Shaw, Judy (Joe) Galambos; cousin, Linda Hutchinson; father-in-law, Ralph Mattes; sister-in-law, Susan Fejes and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Margaret Mattes and brother-in-law, Michael Fejes.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 2-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or The Helping Hand of St. Louis.
