A Rossford teenager died when a car he was a passenger in crashed on North Crissey Road in Spencer Township Thursday night (12-21-23).
The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 10:08 p.m.
The preliminary investigation showed a silver Lincoln MKS, operated by Reid Pearson, 17, Maumee, was north on North Crissey Road when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign and negotiate a curve. The vehicle went out of control and drove off the north side of the roadway where it struck a tree and came to a stop against a second tree. The driver was transported to University of Toledo Medical Center with life threatening injuries. The rightfront passenger, Ace Cuellar, 17, Rossford, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The right rear passenger Ava Grycza, 16, Maumee, was taken to Toledo Hospital for serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Lucas County Coroner’s Office, Lucas County Life Squad and Springfield Township Fire and EMS.
