On Friday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m., the City of Bowling Green Human Relations Commission will host the 35th annual tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will be held at the Wood County District Public Library located at 251 N. Main St. in Bowling Green.
During this event, the Drum Major for Peace Award will be presented. This award is given to someone who benefits the BG community and exemplifies the teachings and values of King – courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service. This year’s recipient is Emily Dunipace, the community engagement specialist at Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The tribute will feature keynote speaker Ana Brown, the deputy chief of Diversity, Belonging and Multicultural Affairs at Bowling Green State University, as well as a member of the Bowling Green Human Relations Commission.
