The Wood County Dog Shelter will be holding a “Spring Fling Adoption Event” on Sunday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the shelter.
There will be a $50 adoption fee for all dogs, with the purchase of a 2024 Wood County dog license.
Available for adoption will be dogs like Oscar, a 5-6-year-old pit bull, that was running loose in Perrysburg near Ohio 25 for over a week. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his shots.
Oscar is the dog shelter’s office buddy right now, and greets customers as they walk in.
“He is an absolute sweetheart and will sit at my feet during the day when I am in my office,” Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding said.
Oscar can be a little picky with other dogs so it’s recommended that anyone interested in Oscar, who already has a dog at home, bring the dog in to meet him.
The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
The regular adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is normally closed on Sundays.
