Bowling Green Police arrested a Toledo man for allegedly trafficking fentanyl on Tuesday (10/1). Officers were called to the Walmart parking lot, 131 W. Gypsy Lane Road, around 7:20 p.m., after a customer reported a man slumped in the driver’s seat of a car left running.
Police could not tell if the man, Jarren Salisbury, 30, was breathing, so an officer knocked on the car window but couldn’t rouse the man. The police opened the door and reportedly found Salisbury showing signs of overdosing.
Dispatch then received a call from a Walmart employee about another male in the store who was reportedly displaying overdosing symptoms. Bowling Green Fire Division took Salisbury to Wood County Hospital and officers responded to the person needing assistance in the store.
While at the hospital, Salisbury reportedly had loose pills fall out of his sweatshirt, where police also reported finding a plastic bag with brown residue. Salisbury’s hat also contained several loose pills, and the report stated that police kept finding more pills as Salisbury continued to move around.
Police also reportedly found $1,747.35 in cash on Salisbury. A search of his belongings also allegedly found three plastic bags of suspected fentanyl, one plastic bag of a white powdery substance, one with a green powdery substance, and 53 Xanax pills.
While searching his vehicle, police reportedly found a crack pipe, suspected crack cocaine, and a white powdery substance in a cup holder.
Salisbury was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of drugs, and failure to maintain physical control. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
