Wood County Safe Communities announced today events for the week of St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to remind everyone of the dangers of drinking and driving.
In Wood County, as well as nationwide, alcohol involved crashes and fatal crashes occur generally in the age group of 16 – 25. To bring extra awareness to this dangerous act, Safe Communities has the following events scheduled on the campus of BGSU:
– Monday March 14 – Tuesday March 15: We will be bringing awareness by tabling at the BGSU Union, as well as implementing the “Cash Golf Cart” during the day. Our “Cash Golf Cart” (similar to “Cash Cab”) will be driving through campus offering students a ride to their destination if they answer questions regarding impaired driving.
– Wednesday March 16: We will continue with the above activities, as well as presenting a Mock OVI Crash on the lawn between Anderson Arena/ROTC and Olscamp Hall in conjunction with coalition partners. The presentation will start at 5:30 pm. All citizens are welcome to attend.
– Thursday March 17: RESPECT THE CLOVER DRIVE SOBER will be running from 8:00 am to Noon, and then again from 4:00 pm to 2:00 am on Friday. If you find yourself in need of a ride home from your celebrations, please do not hesitate to contact us at 419-823-7765 for a free ride.
