Indie, the stray pittie, is putting on pounds at Wood County Dog Shelter while waiting for a home

Meet Indie, the 5-6-year-old pittie that came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray. She was found in a bean field, and was skin and bones when she arrived at the shelter, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.

Since being at the shelter she has really gained weight and flourished.

“She loves everybody she meets and has done really well with the other dogs at the shelter,” Harding said. “She recently went to a BGSU soccer game and loved everybody coming over to say ‘hi’ to her.”

She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on her shots.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
