BG Police arrest two men for alleged domestic violence

Bowling Green Police arrested two men for their alleged involvement in two cases of domestic violence on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

The first incident occurred in the 100 block of Liberty Street, around 6 p.m., when police were called to the home for a fight. While an officer was talking to Matthew Winslow, 40, through a window at the home, the officer saw a hand moving on the floor in the kitchen area.

A woman was found face down on the floor. Initially, she told police nothing was wrong, though she had a big bump on the side of her head. She declined going to the hospital to be checked out, and wouldn’t allow police to take photos of her head injury.

When some of the responding police left the room, the woman reportedly told one officer that Winslow had hit her.

Winslow was arrested for domestic violence and taken to Wood County Jail.

About five hours later, around 1 a.m., BG Police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of South Main Street, for suspected domestic violence and strangulation allegedly by Xavier Pasquinelly, 25, of Maumee.

The incident was reported by a woman listening on the phone at the time of the abuse. The caller reported she could hear the alleged victim being struck, screaming, and telling the man to get off of her.

Police noticed redness on the front of the woman’s throat, resembling individual fingers being used for strangulation.

The reported victim told police she was fine, and that no one else had been in her apartment with her. She wouldn’t allow officers to take photos of her injuries.

Pasquinelly was arrested for domestic violence and strangulation, and taken to Wood County Jail.
