BG man charged with vehicular manslaughter in motorcycle crash

A Bowling Green man has been charged in a crash that killed a motorcyclist last month.

Joseph Martini, 84, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and failure to yield the right-of-way in a crash that killed Kevin Zakrzewksi, 59, of Bowling Green, according to Bowling Green Police Lt. Ryan Tackett.

Martini was westbound on West Newton Road in an SUV, July 19, around 2:30 p.m., when he reportedly stopped at the stop sign at Brim Road, then allegedly pulled into the intersection. Zakrzewski was southbound on Brim Road on his motorcycle and struck Martini’s vehicle.

According to the police report, cameras from two nearby businesses caught the crash on video.
