BG woman cited for OVI refusal after allegedly causing crash at Elm and Fifth streets

A Bowling Green woman was charged with OVI refusal, failure to yield at a stop sign, and open container in a motor vehicle after she reportedly caused a crash Monday (June 1) around 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of Elm and Fifth streets.

No one was injured in the crash, but Isabel Reyes’ vehicle had significant front-end damage after she allegedly ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle.

According to the police report, Reyes, 26, of Bowling Green, had slurred speech and the odor of alcohol after the crash. Police reportedly found an open bottle of tequila in her vehicle.

Reyes started to perform field sobriety tests, then allegedly refused to complete them. She was transported by BG EMS to Wood County Hospital for medical clearance and evaluation. Once there, she reportedly refused a urine test, so police secured a warrant for a blood test.

She was taken to Wood County Jail.
