Educational presentation on reproductive rights to be held on BGSU campus, Sept. 29

The overturning of Roe v. Wade has led to a loss of reproductive freedoms, a curtailing of rights to healthcare and a confusion over what is and isn’t legal for many Ohioans. To address this confusion, the Bowling Green State University College Democrats and BGSU FORGE in conjunction with a new grassroots coalition, BG Persists, will be hosting an educational event on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m., in Bowling Green State University’s Bowen Thompson Student Union, room 207.

Hannah Servedio, Senior Organizer at ProChoice Ohio, will be discussing the ramifications of new abortion bans in the state of Ohio. In this presentation, options available for women seeking abortions under new state laws will be discussed, as well as ways for Ohioans to influence public policy. She will be joined by BG Councilperson Nick Rubando  who will discuss efforts to protect reproductive freedom in future local legislation. Resource tables will be available so that attendees can learn more.

Following the educational meeting, the students and attendees will be marching through campus.

The public is welcome to the event and are encouraged to make signs expressing their views about these recent abortion restrictions (supplies will be available).
