The daughter of an escaped convict has issued a plea to her father to surrender.

In a video released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol the unnamed daughter of Bradley Gillespie pleaded with her father : “I want you in my life. Please turn yourself in before anybody gets hurt. … We want you safe. We want you back. We don’t want anything bad to happen.”

Gillespie, who was in prison after being convicted of two murders, along with James Lee, who was convicted of burglary, escaped Monday from the Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima.

On Tuesday evening, officers from the Henderson (Kentucky) Police Department located the car stolen from Auglaize County that the escapees were driving.

Following a pursuit Lee was apprehended. Gillespie eluded arrest.

Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies from Ohio, Kentucky and the U.S. United States Marshal Service continue to saturate that area in search of the escaped inmate.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has deployed resources to the Henderson area. Troopers from the Patrol’s Aviation Unit will aid in the search from the air, and troopers from the Patrol’s Special Response Team will help on the ground under the authority of the Marshal Service. Additionally, troopers from the Patrol’s Office of Investigative Services will be assisting with the criminal investigation.

The Patrol continues to investigate how Lee and Gillespie escaped. The prison is operating with limited, controlled inmate movement and an internal investigation by Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction.
