Virginia Theatre to host free showing of ‘Planes, Trains, and Automobiles’

From NORTH BALTIMORE PUBLIC LIBRARY

The April theme for “Ohio Goes to the Movies” is transportation. “Ohio Goes to the Movies” is a statewide celebration of Ohio’s contributions to the film industry, presented as part of America 250-Ohio.

The North Baltimore Public Library has chosen to show “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles,” starring Steve Martin and John Candy. A portion of this movie was filmed in Ohio.

“A Chicago advertising man must struggle to travel home from New York for Thanksgiving, with a lovable oaf of a shower-curtain-ring salesman as his only companion.”

The showing will take place at the Virginia Theatre, 119 N. Main St., North Baltimore, on Wednesday, April 1, at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

This free showing is brought to the community in partnership with the Virginia Theatre, the North Baltimore Public Library, and the North Baltimore Ohio Area Historical Society.
