Wood County Committee on Aging to host fall prevention classes

From WOOD COUNTY COMMITTEE ON AGING, INC.

The Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc. will be holding a “Matter of Balance” class at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St., Bowling Green, every Tuesday from May 5 to June 23, from 10 a.m. – noon. This eight-week evidence-based course costs $20 and includes a manual for training purposes, weekly exercises to build strength and balance, and a certificate upon completion of the course.

Is someone experiencing a fear of falling? Are they limiting their activities due to this fear? Are they becoming physically weak? If they answered “yes” to any of these three questions, A Matter of Balance is for them. During this class, participants will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
