Wood County is under a heat advisory from noon – 8 p.m. today, July 15, with heat index values up to 104°F expected.
Thursday, July 16, temperature and heat indices will trend cooler but will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Due to wildfires in Minnesota and Canada, air quality is expected to be impacted for Thursday as well. People who are vulnerable to poor air quality – children, adults over 65, pregnant people, those with pre-existing heart and lung issues – should limit their time outdoors.
Wood County EMA will continue to provide updates as deemed appropriate.
