Carol Jean Wilson

Carol Jean Wilson passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, in Perrysburg, Ohio. Carol was born on June 11, 1932, in Perrysburg, the daughter of Robert and Sylva (Davis) Braatz. Carol was a 1950 graduate of Perrysburg High School and went on to continue her education at The Ohio State University. She always remained an avid Buckeyes fan.

Carol married George “Dick” Wilson in 1956, and the two enjoyed 49 years together; building and raising a family in Perrysburg. Dick purchased and owned Dick Wilson Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealership, in 1975, and moved the family to Bowling Green the following year. The two worked alongside each other for a few years, until Carol began volunteering at St. Lukes Hospital, in Maumee, Ohio. Carol was a natural with people and found pride in volunteering and working with others. She followed this passion and became the Director of Volunteers. She enjoyed her career for many years.

Carol and Dick were members of the Bowling Green Country Club, and supporters of BGSU athletics. Carol was active with the Perrysburg High School Class of 1950 Reunions and enjoyed planning and organizing many reunions through the years. She was also a member of the New Century Club, where she attended tours and activities with other members. Carol’s favorite hobby was traveling. She took many trips to Europe, including special trips with her grandchildren. One of her most memorable trips was her time spent in South Africa. Carol relished her time spent with family and friends and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Carol’s memory include her two sons, Rick and Rob (Tina) Wilson; two grandchildren, Todd (Ashley) Wilson and Abigail (Christopher) Bollenbacher; three great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Walker and Libby Wilson, and Sulley Bollenbacher. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Dick Wilson.

A graveside service will be held privately. Memorial donations are suggested to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Kind words for the family may be left at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
