‘Perrysburg Hearts the Arts’ fine art fair to take place Aug. 16-17

From THE GUILD OF ARTISTS & ARTISANS AND VISIT PERRYSBURG

The Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild), producers of the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, and Visit Perrysburg have announced the annual return of the Perrysburg Hearts the Arts fine art fair, supported by SJS Investment Services. This event showcasing diverse artistic talents and musicians will take place on Aug. 16 – 17. Located in Perrysburg’s Historic Downtown, along Louisiana Avenue and Second Street, the fair will showcase 100 artists, food trucks, and kids activities, and coincides with the “Boots in the ‘Burg” country music concert. Both events are free to the public.

The participating artists are jury-selected and include jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber, and more. The featured artwork, found on the promotional poster and marketing materials for this year’s event, was created by Rachel Mentzer, a paper artist who transforms found and recycled materials into detailed collagraph plates by carving into layers of cardboard. Mentzer previously participated in the 2024 Perrysburg Hearts the Arts event and brings a unique, sustainable approach to printmaking.

In addition to the artists selling their work throughout the weekend, “Boots in the ‘Burg” is set to bring an evening of country music to the heart of downtown Perrysburg on Saturday, Aug. 16. The inaugural, free outdoor concert will feature headliner Niko Moon, known for hits like “Good Time” and “Paradise to Me,” along with performances by the Lee Warren Band and Kaleb Sanders. Taking place on Louisiana Avenue, the event offers music, local food trucks, signature restaurants, and drinks inside the concert gates. “Boots in the ‘Burg” kicks off at 5 p.m.

Food trucks at the event will offer a variety of eats, including sweets, hot dogs, lemonade, and more. The event will also include family fun with the Kids Zone constructed by Lakeside Interior Contractors, with free make and take art activities.

“We’re delighted to continue bringing fine art, family fun, and music to the Perrysburg community with this year’s event,” said Karen Delhey, executive director of The Guild of Artists & Artisans. “Perrysburg Hearts the Arts is a wonderful opportunity for all arts appreciators to enjoy a full weekend of art-buying and music-listening. It’s an honor to bring these free public events to downtown Perrysburg, and we’re excited to see how much this event has grown in just one year.”
