Marilyn Jean Woodruff, age 90, of Luckey, OH passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, in Perrysburg, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 31, 1935 in Troy Township, OH to Alvin H. and Doris A. (Miller) Hoelter.
Marilyn owned and operated the Clearwater Quarry for nearly 25 years, establishing a place that welcomed everyone to create memories that will last a lifetime. Additionally, she held positions at BGSU, Business Techniques Inc. and Glass City Boardwalk. She was an active and lifetime member at Zion Lutheran Church in Luckey, and had also previously served as the church secretary.
Marilyn enjoyed playing cards, games and bunco with friends and family. She was an avid reader, liked to travel, collect cardinals, and paint ceramics. However, it was her family she cherished spending time with the most, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to visits, holidays and family reunions with extended family members as well.
Marilyn is survived by her Children: Susan Okenka, Debra Derr, Rick Woodruff and Ron Woodruff; Grandchildren: Stephanie (Ryan) Briggs, Magen Fisher, Michael Okenka, Katelyn (Nick Griffith) Okenka, Alison Okenka, and Sumer Woodruff; Great-grandchildren: Daniel and Adelyn Briggs, Jones and Jesse Griffith. She is also survived by her brother, Mike (Mary) Hoelter; Sister, Jackie Hoelter; Sisters-in-law, Fannie McCoy and Kay Woodruff; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by Charles Woodruff; her Parents; Son-in-law, Danny Derr; Sister, Carol Markuson; Brother, Bill Hoelter; Brothers-in-law: Kenneth Woodruff, James Woodruff and Sister-in-law, Joanne Woodruff.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4- 7 p.m., at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, 303 Park Drive, Luckey, OH. There will an additional time of visiting with the family beginning at 10 a.m., until the time of service. Officiating will be, Pastor Brandi Bailie. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey. A bereavement luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall immediately following the cemetery committal services. Memorial contributions may be given to: Zion Lutheran Church, Troy Twp.
