From TOYS FOR TOTS
Bowling Green will kick off its third annual Santa pub crawl, a Toys for Tots event, on Saturday, Dec. 13, starting at 5 p.m. No registration is required, but revelers should bring an unwrapped gift, with a minimum value of $20, and wear festive holiday garb. A Santa hat is suggested, but participants are encouraged to go bigger by dressing as Santa, an elf, a reindeer, or as characters from Christmas movies or shows. The best costumes will win prizes.
The pub crawl route is within a block and a half of downtown Bowling Green. It will start at the newly remodeled Cla-Zel Theater, 5 – 6 p.m., continuing to Doc’s Big City Saloon where there will be pizza specials, 6 – 7 p.m., then to costume-judging at The Downtown Sports Bar, 7 – 8 p.m., and ending at live music venue Howard’s Club H, where the band The Scottish Mile will take the stage, 8 – 10 p.m.
The U.S. Marines, wearing their dress uniforms, will attend to gather the donated toys and then distribute them in the weeks ahead.
There will be drink specials at every stop and prizes will be given to the best costumes in these four categories:
- Best male character
- Best female character
- Best couple
- Best group – three or more
For more updates and news, participants are encouraged to check the event’s Facebook page.
