One man was killed in a two-vehicle crash north of Bowling Green today (12/31) around 12:30 p.m.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Dunbridge Road, near Dowling Road in Middleton Township.
The investigation showed that a Dodge Dakota Truck was traveling southbound on Dunbridge Road, and a Toyota Corolla sedan was traveling northbound on Dunbridge Road. Both vehicles appeared to lose control on the icy roadway and struck head-on.
The operator of the Toyota Corolla, identified as Matias Silvas Jr., age 56, of Fremont, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Dodge truck, identified as Michael Kohler Jr., age 27, of Perrysburg, and his passenger, Rachael Brough, age 32, of Weston, were treated at the scene and released. All individuals involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Assisting the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on location was Middleton Township Fire and EMS, Great Lakes Towing and Shane’s Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
