Janet C. Zulch, 83, of Weston, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2026. She was born on July 31, 1942, in Toledo to the late James and Martha (Daniels) German. Janet was a 1960 graduate of Otsego Schools. Janet was first united in marriage to Gary Fouts, who preceded her in death on December 2, 1988. Their years together were filled with love and shared memories that remained a meaningful part of her life.
A devoted and longtime member of the Weston Church of Christ, Janet’s faith was an important cornerstone of her life. Through her church community, she later met Thomas Zulch. Their friendship grew through their shared beliefs and fellowship, and they were married on December 10, 2005. Tom and Jan spent a total of 30 wonderful years together.
Janet dedicated many years of service to her community through her work. Early in her life she was employed at the Cla-Zel Theater and Nationwide Insurance, and later retired as a secretary at Wood Lane Schools, but her greatest role was that of Mom and housewife. Janet served as a Trustee of the Weston Library Board, which she enjoyed for 32 years.
Janet loved reading, working on puzzles, especially crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, planting flowers, and traveling whenever she had the opportunity. Her kind and gentle heart impacted all who knew her.
Janet is survived by loving husband Thomas Zulch of Weston, daughter Carrie (Joe) Foster of McComb, step-sons Shad (Theresa) Zulch of Edon, Matt Zulch of Weston, step-daughter Sara (Dean) Smith of Bowling Green, brother Thomas (Shirley) German, brother-in-laws Norman Tolles, Richard (Gwen) Zulch & Phil (Deb) Zulch, sisters-in-laws Laura Lee German, Helen (Kenneth) May, and Joann Bulter, grandchildren Emma, Wyatt, Eliza, Shane, Allie, Justus, Ethan, and Shelby, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband Gary, Janet was preceded in death by brothers James German and Daniel German.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home located at 18620 Washington St., Tontogany, OH 43565. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Weston Church of Christ, located at 13355 Center St., Weston, Ohio, with an additional visitation period taking place beforehand from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
