City of Bowling Green issues warning about planning & zoning invoice scam

Saved side of the old old expensive proposition Richie Neil had gone to classical so in but anyway I have to say I don’t know if it was some they did. I think they did outstanding a blending too. Oh this is it this is really.

From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN

The City of Bowling Green Planning Department has recently been made aware of a phishing attempt targeting residents who have submitted zoning variance requests. Scammers are using publicly available information from applications to create fraudulent invoices that appear to be from the city, including the unauthorized use of the city’s logo, in an attempt to collect payment.

Residents and businesses who receive an unexpected invoice or payment request related to a zoning, planning, or permitting matter should exercise caution. The city will not send invoices requesting immediate payment without prior communication through official channels.

If someone receives a suspicious invoice, email, or communication:

  • Do not make any payments or provide personal or financial information.
  • Verify the request by contacting the city directly using official contact information.
  • Report the incident to the Bowling Green Police Division at 419-352-1131.

The city emphasizes that legitimate invoices and communications will come directly from verified city staff and departments. Payments will never be requested through unusual methods such as gift cards, wire transfers, or third-party payment apps.

Residents with questions regarding zoning applications, permits, or related fees are encouraged to contact the planning department or the appropriate city office directly. Official contact information can be found on the city’s website at www.bgohio.gov.

Residents and businesses are urged to remain vigilant and take precautions to protect themselves from falling victim to scams. If something seems suspicious, trust your instincts and verify before taking action.

City employees are happy to provide identification and verification upon request. If you are ever unsure about the legitimacy of a communication, contact the city directly using published phone numbers or email addresses.
