From CITY OF PERRYSBURG
Whirlpool Corporation announced that it plans to expand its Ohio operations with a new, state-of-the-art production facility in Perrysburg.
The new facility will be located at the former Toledo Solar site at 1775 Progress Drive and will undergo more than $60 million in upgrades and transformation. The investment will include the installation of advanced manufacturing technologies and automation systems to support the production of appliance components and subassemblies for washers and dryers.
Construction and development of the facility are expected to take place over the next two years. Once operational, the plant is projected to create between 100 and 150 new jobs in the region. This new Perrysburg location will mark the company’s 11th manufacturing facility in the U.S. and its sixth in the state of Ohio, further reinforcing its commitment to domestic production and investment in the region.
Company officials noted the Perrysburg facility will serve as a critical hub within Whirlpool Corporation’s U.S. manufacturing network, providing key operational support to nearby Ohio plants and helping strengthen domestic production capabilities.
Mayor Mark Weber attended and welcomed the announcement, emphasizing the project’s importance to the community and long-term growth strategy.
“This is exactly the kind of investment we’re proud to see in Perrysburg. It means new jobs for our residents and represents an important first step in continuing to develop Route 25 as a key economic corridor. It’s a great day for our city, and I look forward to welcoming Whirlpool to the Perrysburg community,” Weber said.
In addition to ongoing development, Whirlpool Corporation anticipates hosting a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility later this year.
