Sharing a location in one of America’s best college towns, Bowling Green State University and the Wood County Fair are teaming up to turn the fairgrounds orange and brown for the first-ever BGSU Day on Friday, Aug. 7, as part of the fair’s programming and events.

BGSU Day at the 2026 Wood County Fair will celebrate both the university’s and the fair’s longstanding connections and contributions to the community starting at 8 a.m. on Aug. 7, featuring a tent at the front gate as well as a booth under the grandstands with free university-themed gear and souvenirs.

In addition to the fair’s signature food, rides, and entertainment, BGSU Day will include opportunities to engage with student athletes, meet sibling mascots Freddie and Frieda Falcon, and more. The day will also feature engaging activities for current students and their families and alumni, including an evening fireworks display.

Celebrating 250 years of creating community, the 2026 Wood County Fair will offer a variety of additional events for attendees of all ages, including a rodeo, pedal tractor pulls, kids’ floral challenge, animal displays, roaming entertainment, and more.

BGSU Day at this year’s fair will provide fairgoers with programming and events that highlight Bowling Green and the greater community as the right place for students to have a true college experience.
