Leann May Jasper, 60, of McClure, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Born on October 16, 1965, Leann was the daughter of John and Judae (Anglen) Jamison. On August 1, 1987, she married John “JD” Jasper, who survives her in McClure.
Leann graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She was a faithful member of Dayspring Church, where her faith played a central role in her life and guided her daily walk with God. In fact, she spoke many times of looking forward to meeting Jesus, her savior and friend, and spending eternity in heaven.
Leann devoted many years caring for her family as a homemaker, lovingly tending to her husband, being an amazing mother to her children and attending to the chickens and dogs on the family farm. As her children grew older, she shared her gifts and talents with the community by serving as a substitute teacher in several local school districts, volunteering at church events, including vacation Bible school, and supporting traveling pastors with gift bags filled with goodies and encouragement at The Mill House in Grand Rapids. She also pursued her passion for baking by establishing her own in-home bakery, where she became known for her gourmet cupcakes, delicious wedding cakes, and other homemade treats.
When she wasn’t teaching or baking, Leann found joy in gardening and taking nature walks, which allowed her to connect with God and appreciate His creation. Above all else, she treasured the time spent with her family and especially cherished her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Along with her beloved husband JD, she is survived by her father John Jamison of Fontana, Kansas, son Levi (Rachael) Jasper of Bowling Green, Ohio, daughter Alisha (Matthew) Christy of Holgate, Ohio, her brother Mark (Marilyn) Jamison of Florida, sister Colleen (Donnie) Andrews of Fulton, Missouri, and her 5 treasured grandchildren Noah, Lilly, Elijah, Luke and Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her mother Judae Jamison.
