The City of Bowling Green has contracted crews to improve the water and sewer lines on Wallace Avenue from Meeker Street to North Maple Street beginning Sept. 4.
This work includes installation of a new 12-inch combination sewer and a new 8-inch water line. Once the waterline portion of the project is complete, new curbs and catch basins will be installed, with full-width street paving to follow.
Intermittent lane restrictions and road closures on Wallace Avenue can be expected, and restrictions at intersections may be necessary. Access to/from driveways for residents will be maintained. An informational flyer will be delivered to residents living along the affected roads.
Residents who live on Wallace Avenue will find street parking restriction notices posted. During the project, parking on the street will not be permitted, but access to driveways will be maintained.
Construction in this area is expected to be completed by the end of October. This schedule is dependent upon weather and progress of work. Updates and progress on this project and others can be followed on the city’s Capital Projects Map.
