In 2007, a group of area musicians met to realize a dream: a community band for the Bowling Green, OH area.
It was led by founding director and Conductor Laureate, Nick Ezzone.
The result?
Bowling Green Area Community Bands! The first concert was held in 2008 and the joy, enthusiasm, and excitement of those first days still distinguishes our group identity: esprit de corps!
With four main-series concerts plus two “outdoor” concerts anchoring the BGACB 2023-24, we hope you will consider becoming part of the “family”
- you, who need something more than canned, passive entertainment
- you, who fondly remember your days in high school/college bands
- you, who are eager to make positive use of your gifts and talents
- you, who enjoy “re-connecting” with friends who are like family
Special plans are “crystalizing” to celebrate the First 15!
Conductors Thom Headley and Catherine Lewis are planning “crystal” musical delights for each concert program, ultimately leading to the May 2024 guest appearance of composer Carl Holmquist and the premier performance of his *new work* commissioned to honor the occasion. Now is the time to get in on the fun!
