Hans “LeRoy” Josephsen, age 89, of Bowling Green, passed away on June 17, 2024 to be with his heavenly father.
LeRoy was born January 11, 1935 in Pleasantville, New Jersey to the late Henry and Cecilia Josephsen. He married Nancy Valentine June 15, 1957 in Bowling Green and she preceded him in death in 2012.
LeRoy and his wife, Nancy, were commissioned by Bowling Green Alliance Church, beginning in 1958, to serve as missionaries in Vietnam and the Philippines for over 35 years. Then they continued Vietnamese and International evangelism and church planting ministries in the United States for the remainder of their lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Ruth Wade, Chrisana Richert and Carl Josephsen. Surviving is his sister, Louise Macrone of Abilene, South Dakota.
Also surviving is one son: Tim Josephsen of Minneapolis, Minnesota and three daughters: Debbie (Steve) Davis of Wayne, Ohio, Beckie (Joe) Simon of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Shellie (David) Clapsaddle of Paulding, Ohio. He was a grandfather to eleven grandchildren – Elizabeth, Alexandra, Lydia, Andrew, Philip, Tony, Julia, Kathryn, Christine, Charles and Jonathan. And three great grandchildren – Lucas, Andrew and Ruby.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 2:00 to 7:00pm at the Bowling Green Alliance Church, 161 Napoleon Rd. Bowling Green, Ohio.
Funeral Services will also be held at the church on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00am, with a visitation time from 10am-11am prior to the beginning of the service. Internment will immediately follow at Portage Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Bowling Green Alliance Church.
Memorial contributions may be gifted, in the Josephsen’s honor, to the Bowling Green Alliance Church with a designation for Vietnamese Ministry.
