BG Police respond to report of bicyclist being threatened

Bowling Green Police Division responded to East Wooster Street on Wednesday around 1 p.m., for a report of menacing of a bicyclist.

At the entrance to Fricker’s, police met with a bicyclist who said he was riding eastbound on the sidewalk along Wooster Street, when a black Ram pickup pulled up to exit the Fricker’s area and bumped his bike.

The bicyclist told police that he stopped and raised his hands to ask the driver “what’s the problem.” The driver reportedly got out of the truck, and a second pickup (a dark colored Ford) “came flying up” from behind Fricker’s and the driver got out. The second driver reportedly started yelling at the bicyclist, and picked up the bicycle and threw it in the grass.

The bicyclist stated that the second driver may have had a knife. At this point, the bicyclist said he ran out onto Wooster Street to get away.

The two men got in their trucks and drove opposite directions on Wooster. The first driver was described as a white male, 60, with gray hair, medium height and build. The second driver was described as a white male, about 30, brown hair, 3-4 inch long beard, medium height and build. The second truck may have had a Michigan license plate.
