Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, his office reported Thursday.

DeWine, 73, received a routine test Thursday morning before meeting President Donald Trump in Northern Ohio. Lt. Gov. Jon Husted tested negative, DeWine’s office said.

“Governor DeWine is returning to Columbus where he and First Lady Fran DeWine, who also has no symptoms, will both be tested,” the statement said. “Governor DeWine plans to follow protocol for COVID-19 and quarantine at his home in Cedarville for the next 14 days.”

DeWine was credited early in the pandemic for taking swift, decisive action to slow the spread of the virus.
