Jeffrey J Shetzer

Jeffrey J Shetzer, Age 64, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at Hospice of NW Ohio in Toledo. Jeff graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended Owens Community College. He retired from BGSU as the Senior Human Resource Representative. he worked at the university for 34 years. In addition, for 30 years, he worked at K 100 as a radio announcer with a smooth voice.

Jeff was a kind and loving man who always helped those in need. He was a spiffy dresser. Whenever he went out, he wore a dress shirt, tie, and slacks, with polished leather shoes and a hat.

Jeff loved westerns and decorated his living room with western decor he picked up from antique shops and flea markets. He regularly attended the Spring/ Fall extravaganza in Springfield, Ohio.

He listened to all types of music, but he especially loved country the best.

Jeff was a proud pug parent to Macey, Hank, and Doug, all of whom have passed. He was also a parent to 3 special felines – TC, Mittens, and his beloved Mr. Kitten, all of whom have crossed the rainbow bridge. His beloved Danny is now with his new “furever” parent, a volunteer with Ohio Pug Rescue.

Jeff enjoyed good food, good music, good movies, and good bourbon. He especially enjoyed sharing these with good friends. He was also an avid movie and TV fan. Some of his favorite genres were westerns, crime stories, and classic comedy-romance films like The Thin Man.

Last summer, he took the trip of a lifetime as he drove his pride and joy to Tombstone, Arizona, Dodge City, Kansas, and later Nashville, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Shetzer and Emma (Clark) Thomas, brothers Robert and Michael, sister Susan, and nephew Michael Jr. Jeff is survived by a brother Brian Brewer, nephews Greg, Todd, Keith, and Tracy, as well as other family members.

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Thursday September 22, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Jeff donated his body to UTMC. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
