Maumee Senior Center to host ‘Breakfast with the Easter Bunny’

From MAUMEE SENIOR CENTER

“Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” will return to the Maumee Senior Center, offering a breakfast, games, and egg hunt. The event will take place at the Maumee Senior Center, 2430 S. Detroit Ave., from 9 a.m. – noon, on Saturday, March 28.

“This will be our fourth year of hosting this fundraiser,” said Malinda Ruble, executive director of the center. “A few years ago, we decided that since we have such a successful ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event that we would reach out with the Easter Bunny for a similar event. It’s been a big hit ever since.”

Registration for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is $10 for children 12 and younger and $13 for adults and children over 12. Breakfast includes sausage, pancakes with a topping bar, juice, milk, or coffee. Meals are available as gluten-free, vegan, or traditional. The serving of breakfast will end at 11 a.m.

“We know there are many individuals and families who avoid gluten and animal products. We have offered gluten-free pancakes for the last few years, but now we also include a vegan option. We want our event to be accommodating for everyone’s dietary preferences,” said Ruble.

In addition to breakfast, families will get to take home a printed photo with the Easter Bunny and participate in a variety of Easter games and egg hunt.

“This event is so much more than just breakfast,” Ruble said. “Children get to see the Easter Bunny, as well as play games, sponsored by Grace Communion Maumee, and hunt for candy-filled eggs. And those finding the golden egg will earn a special prize.”

All ages are welcomed to register and attend this family-fun event. Registration forms are available at:

Supplies and space are limited. Registrations should be made no later than March 25.

Payment options include check, cash, Venmo, and PayPal. Attendees are to designate if vegan or gluten-free meals are requested.

All proceeds from the fundraiser go to support programs, such as transportation, meals, and activities, for those 60 and older.
